Privacy Policy

Overview

Oareo is a spatial capture application for iOS. It uses your device's LiDAR sensor and Apple's RoomPlan framework to create 3D models, measurements, and floor plans of physical spaces. The app is completely free and processes everything on your device. There are no user accounts, no cloud services, and no analytics or tracking.

1. Information We Do Not Collect

Oareo does not collect, transmit, or store any personal information. Specifically:

• We do not require account creation or sign-in of any kind.
• We do not collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, or other identifiers.
• We do not use analytics, tracking pixels, or third-party SDKs.
• We do not collect usage data, crash reports, or device information.
• We do not transmit your capture data, 3D models, floor plans, or any files to any server.

2. Data That Stays on Your Device

When you use Oareo, the app creates and stores the following data locally on your device:

• Capture data: 3D geometry, point clouds, and mesh data generated from LiDAR and RoomPlan captures.
• Floor plans: 2D schematic representations generated from your capture data.
• Metadata: project names, labels, timestamps, and organizational information you provide.
• Exports: files in formats such as USDZ, OBJ, PLY, STL, XYZ, PDF, and PNG that you generate.
• Preferences: your app settings and configuration choices.

All of this data is stored in the app's sandboxed container on your device. It is never sent to Oareo or any third party.

3. Device Permissions

Oareo requests the following device permissions:

• Camera (required): used for LiDAR and RoomPlan capture. This is the core functionality of the app.
• Location (optional): if granted, used to associate location context with captures. Not required for any core feature.
• Photo Library — Add Only (optional): used only when you explicitly choose to save an image or screenshot to your photo library.

You can manage all permissions in iOS Settings at any time. Denying optional permissions does not affect core capture functionality.

4. Sharing and Exports

Oareo does not automatically share anything. When you choose to export or share a file, it is sent only to the destination you select, such as Files, AirDrop, Messages, Mail, or another app. Once a file leaves Oareo, it is governed by the privacy practices of the receiving app or service.

5. iCloud and Device Backups

Oareo does not operate any cloud infrastructure. However, if you have iCloud Backup enabled on your device, iOS may include Oareo's local app data in your standard Apple backup. This behavior is controlled by your Apple account settings, not by Oareo.

6. Data Retention and Deletion

You are in full control of your data. You can delete individual captures, structures, and exported files from within the app at any time. If you uninstall Oareo, all local app data is permanently removed from your device.

7. Children's Privacy

Oareo is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children. Since Oareo does not collect any personal information from any user, there is no mechanism by which children's data could be obtained.

8. Third-Party Services

Oareo does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. The app relies solely on Apple platform frameworks (ARKit, RoomPlan, SceneKit) for its functionality. Apple's own data practices are governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.

9. Changes to This Policy

If we update this privacy policy, we will revise the effective date at the top of this page and publish the updated version here. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
